Finding a nursing bra that fits

Finding a nursing bra that fits properly can seem challenging considering your breast size seems to be in constant fluctuation during pregnancy and nursing. Taking a few minutes to measure yourself can provide you with key information that will help you select the right size.

Band and cup measurements
There are basically two measurements you need to determine which size of nursing bra you need.

Band measurement: Determine the band size of the nursing bra by measuring the circumference of your rib cage. Simply wrap a measuring tape directly below your breasts. Next, you will need to add three inches to this number.οΎ  If the number you get is odd, simply round up to the next even number.

Cup measurement: To determine your cup size you will need to measure where your breasts are the largest. Place the measuring tape on that part of your breast and wrap it around your back. You want to pull the measuring tape taut, but not so tight that you restrict your breasts. The next step is to figure out the difference between the cup measurement and the band measurement. This number will help you determine which size cup you need in a nursing bra.

A properly fitting nursing bra
You'll know you have found a nursing bra that fits properly by the comfort and support it provides. It won't ride up the back, or dig into your shoulders, and it will cover the entire breast and fit snugly below them.
